Prompt List
Simple I love you’s
I feel like we don’t properly appreciate all the small and simple ways we show our love for each other, so this is a way to fix that
A lot of these relate to my own experiences with friends and family, so I’m happy to write them with a platonic, familial, or romantic relationship
- Character A gives Character B a small, simple gift relating to their future
- Character B always presses their forehead to Character A’s head/forehead, so Character A finally does it back
- Character A often pats Character B on the head in passing
- “That was a terrible joke” “I know; isn’t that great?”
- Character B holds Character A’s hand if they’re walking through a crowded place because they know Character A doesn’t want to get lost
- Character A tells their friends nice things about Character B, which Character B only finds out about upon meeting those friends
- Character A tells their parent/guardian all about Character B and vice versa
- Character A accidentally calls Character B, but they end up talking for an hour anyways
- Character A ensures Character B knows they don’t have to participate in an activity that grosses them out
- Character B falls asleep at a social gathering, so Character A makes sure no one bugs or wakes up B
- Character A wants to show Character B something, so they just hold it out to them and wait for B to notice
- Character B pauses whatever they’re doing to look at what Character A has so they don’t feel ignored
- Character B adds Character A’s favorite song to a playlist they listen to together just to see A smile when it comes on
- Character B letting Character A rest their legs over their lap because A needs it and B actually really likes the weighted feeling of comfort it gives
- Character A drops an item all the time, so Character B starts carrying it for them
- Character B tries to learn something Character A is good at so they can do it together
- Character B gets lost in their head, so Character A maneuvers them through wherever they’re going without even thinking about it
- Character A loves storms, so Character B texts them about incoming rain when they know A is stuck inside doing something to make sure they don’t miss it
Lyrics
I can use these as either dialogue prompts or titles. If it feels awkward trying to have a character say the exact line, then it can be more of an inspiration for the fic
- You’re already everything I want
- I used to think one day we’d tell the story of us
- Why can’t they understand the way we feel?
- I love you more than words can say
- Loving you has made me this way
- I don’t wanna be alone
- There’s a world that was meant for us to see
- It’s been so long since we fell apart
- I told myself I’d never quit
- The worst part of me took over my mind
- You’ve got one life to love what you do
- It’s not too late to do something new
- This world will remember us
- I’ll get over you, I know I will
- It’s human nature to miss what’s under your nose
- I’m not sure that we were meant to survive
- Without you, I’m weaker
- Why do I have this growing need to be beside her?
- I swear I knew just what to say, it’s all there on the tip of my tongue
- How can we push aside all the bad and make it right?
- Please tell me that you’ll never run
- You can’t hide from your ghosts
- What if we could talk, like it never happened?
- We had so far to go, but nowhere to be
- If I don’t get out of this town, I just might be the one who finally burns it down
- How I find myself without you, that I’ll never know
- The strings that tie us together always fray
- Maybe it’s perfect, maybe it’s incredibly flawed
- I banished every memory you and I had ever made
- You just met me when I’m not really ready to fall

A distinction I want to make here is that I can write with these either as a songfic or as inspiration. Some of them don’t have lyrics that I think translate well into scenes that I could write, but their feeling and what I see when I listen to it work well for a fic
